💙 Give Kristijonas a rehabilitation in Poland
Kristijonas is a six-year-old boy who is battling traumatic diplegic palsy. Three years ago, Kristijon underwent a complex five-hour spinal surgery SDR (selective dorsal rhizotomy). The surgery removed the bad nerves causing the trap in my legs. The operation was a success, and we were given the hope of living a full life. However, the leg muscles remained very weak. "How much you achieve is how much you will have." - that's what we were told. And from that day on, endless rehabilitation began.
Kristijonas is currently undergoing intensive training to take independent steps. His dream is to walk independently. The outlook is indeed very favourable, but continuous work with specialists is needed. In 2024, Kristijonas had 11 intensive rehabilitation sessions, including six in Poland. The annual costs amounted to €34,000. Therefore, the family is constantly looking for sources of financial support. In a family of four, one dad works, so the income is not enough.
Rehabilitation in Poland is producing incredible results, but we cannot stop. In July, Kristijonas will undergo another three-week rehabilitation in Poland at a cost of €5000.
In Poland, the plan is to work up to 6 hours a day:
- 3 hours of physiotherapy
- 1 hour with the GEO gait robot
- 1 hour of sensory integration
- 1 hour of eye therapy
This rehabilitation is essential for Kristijonas!
