On 13 January, a fire destroyed the pet shelter "Lakis" in Kupiškis district. It was not a separate "facility" or premises - it was the same house where the owner and her son lived, and at the same time it was an animal shelter where animals were cared for and treated every day.
Nikolytė was born at 24 weeks. She spent 3 months in hospital. She suffered a severe strokewhich has left painful consequences. Today she has cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus and intractable epilepsywhich makes it much more difficult to access.
Drug-resistant epilepsywho regularly brings Nicole back to her sickbed when she needs oxygen and resuscitation to stop seizures. Nicole is scheduled for treatment with psychotropic drugs, which can leave her apathetic and sleepy.
Parents do not give up. They fight the girl's illnesses. Seeking innovative treatments for medicines not registered in Lithuaniato free your child from hourly seizures and help them learn to walk again. I have been able to find information that such drugs are available. We are currently in correspondence with several clinics and collecting documents for a remote consultation.
Despite these challenges, Nicole is a strong girl - she is an intelligent child who smiles a lot. Dreaming of walking on your own two feet.
Epilepsy robs the girl of her strength. Today, Nikolytė walks just one metre. Extra per child requires complex rehabilitation with medical supervision, advanced measures. I managed to find one in Warsaw. New technologies help to keep what a child learned before epilepsy (at the age of four).
In Lithuania, it is necessary to keep you in continuous physical shape.
Although the condition is difficult - both legs and an arm are paralysed - we have hope and possibilities. A great gift opens them up: THE GIRL IS SMART and is therefore viable. It talks a lot about love and friendship. Willing to walk on her own two feet. And she can. She had already started walking.
