Master Lakis 2

“Lakis” liepsnose. Prisidėk prie atstatymo

On 13 January, a fire destroyed the pet shelter "Lakis" in Kupiškis district. It was not a separate "facility" or premises - it was the same house where the owner and her son lived, and at the same time it was an animal shelter where animals were cared for and treated every day.

Everyone Deserves to Live!

Batuotos katės is a place where every cat gets a second chance at life.
In the beginning, we were just a few like-minded people who were concerned about the fate of homeless cats. Out of love for them, we rescued, at our own expense, the ones that no one else could help. As the scale of rescue grew, we founded Batuotos katės.
In the almost four years of its existence, we have rescued over 800 cats from the streets. Most of them live today in safe, loving homes. This is our greatest joy and incentive to keep going.
But our path is not easy - we are not supported by the state, but by the hearts of good people. Their support allows us to care for the 140 cats currently in our care.
We are proud to be one of the few organisations in Lithuania with a dedicated room for cats with feline leukaemia. These cats are often referred to as "unviable" - elsewhere they are condemned to euthanasia. But they are as precious to us as any other.
They receive special care, expensive but necessary treatment if needed, and most importantly love and hope.
And when we see even seriously ill cats getting better and finding new homes, we realise we are on the right track.
We invite you to join our mission.
Help us to continue to give hope to those who cannot ask for it themselves.

Rescuing stray dogs

Penkta koja is an animal shelter established in 2008.

Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless animals in Lithuania through humane means such as sterilisation, responsible donation and public education. We aim to create a society where animal cruelty is reduced and pets are chosen and cared for responsibly.

Our activities are supported solely by private and legal donations - we do not receive any state or municipal funding. Every donation you make helps us save lives, heal, care for and give animals a better tomorrow.

Every dog that comes to our shelter has a story - often a painful one, full of betrayal, starvation and disease. They come to us wounded, emaciated and abandoned. But we believe that every life is worth fighting for.

Our shelter currently cares for around 400 dogs, each of whom needs not only warmth and a safe environment, but also daily medical care. Your donation will help us to cover veterinary costs: medicines, surgeries, vaccinations, marking, treatment for internal and external parasites, spaying/neutering. We will also provide a complete diet, from daily dry and wet food to special diets for seriously ill dogs: those struggling with oncological diseases, allergies or digestive disorders.

Every euro is an opportunity for one homeless animal to not only survive, but also to recover, regain trust in people and find a real home.
